Artifice Armor is powerful gear that can be earned from end-game activities in Destiny 2. Guardians can equip additional Mods, freeing up other slots.
Artifice Armor is special gear introduced during the 30th Anniversary Update in Destiny 2. This armor is not easy to acquire and can only be obtained by completing difficult end-game content. Guardians will need high Power and a well-thought-out build to earn this gear. Artifice Armor is coveted because it rolls with high stats and has an additional Mod slot. Guardians should collect a complete set of this gear before Lightfall.
As of Season 19, there are only three ways to acquire Artifice Armor in the game. The 30th Anniversary Update in Destiny 2 introduced the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon. In this activity, Guardians journey into the infamous “loot cave” and discover the fates of a Fireteam that suffered from greed. Besides adding several excellent weapons, this Dungeon featured the first instance of Master difficulty. While each encounter remained the same, players faced an immense challenge. Master Dungeons are tough and not for the faint of heart. As a reward for defeating each boss, Guardians can earn Artifice Armor.
How To Earn Artifice Armor Before Lightfall In Destiny 2
Since Grasp of Avarice, Bungie has added two new Dungeons with Master difficulty. Season of the Haunted brought Duality, while Season of the Seraph introduced Spire of the Watcher. Similar to Grandmaster Nightfalls in Destiny 2, players will need to sharpen their skills to complete these activities. Enemies in Master Dungeons have more health and deal tremendous damage. Fortunately, the loot gained from perseverance is some of the best in the game. The details on how to access each Dungeon can be found below:
Dungeon | Location | Access |
---|---|---|
Grasp of Avarice | Eternity Node | 30th Anniversary Pack |
Duality | Moon | Requires purchase of The Witch Queen Deluxe or Dungeon Key |
Spire of the Watcher | Savathun’s Throne World | Requires purchase of The Witch Queen Deluxe or Dungeon Key |
Currently, Artifice Armor comes with an additional slot, specifically for Artifact Mods. This can help to free up slots on gear and facilitate build crafting. Bungie recently announced that these extra slots would change in Lightfall. The Artifact Mods will instead be replaced with stat-increasing Mods in Destiny 2. Guardians with all five armor pieces can gain a combination of 15 stat points. While Artifice Armor may not be too different from regular gear, it allows players more freedom to change their build. Guardians might want to start farming Master Dungeons before Lightfall releases in Destiny 2 on February 28, 2023.
