Why A Workation Policy Benefits Your Business

As businesses start to call people back to the office, overhauling benefit packages and incentives should be a priority. It’s a well known fact that employee turnover comes with high business costs.

Increasing engagement and dedication is important and there are a few ways to do that. One of those should be considering a workation policy for those that are expected to work from the office the majority of the time.

What is a Workation?

A workation allows them to plan a trip to a new location of their choosing at no cost to the business but doesn’t require them to use vacation days. The expectation is that the employee would still work their normal hours and stay in contact with coworkers and clients, but with the freedom to do it from a new city or even a new country.

The pandemic has allowed the majority of us to get comfortable with all the technology needed to make something like a workation policy possible so it would be a relatively painless transition.

There are plenty of benefits as well! Not only will it reduce overall cost, as a workation can decrease the use of sick and mental health days, but it will also:

  • Increase productivity
  • Increase motivation
  • Bring about fresh perspective
  • Foster deeper focus
  • Encourage better teamwork
