Honor X8 beautiful and powerful smartphone
Recently, the new Honor 8X was presented. This is a device with a recognizable corporate design, a large screen, a new hardware platform and a very tenacious battery. In addition, there are a lot of tricky technological features here, and the base price is a pleasant surprise. Let’s get to know each other better!
Frameless design looks great
The well-established design concept that was used in previous Honor smartphones is still in business. The new honor mobile x8 has a metal frame with rounded edges around the perimeter, and glass front and back. Pretty scratch resistant, I must say. It is clear that you should not put any phone at all in one pocket with keys, including this one, but with careful everyday use it is quite difficult to damage the case.
Separately, it is worth noting the selection of colors. In addition to classic black, Honor X8 will be available in red and blue colors. And in all three cases, the back panel will be gradient, that is, consisting of as many as fifteen layers of glass that splendidly shimmer under bright rays of light. All this makes the smartphone look noticeably more expensive than it actually costs. And the headphone jack hasn’t disappeared – hooray!
The front panel is also surprising: the screen-to-body ratio is 91%! The designers have done a great job. Even many competitors’ flagships have not yet come close to such an indicator, but here is a model from the middle price segment. At the top of the display, there is a fashionable cutout today, in which the front camera lens, the earpiece, the notification indicator and the proximity sensor are located. And this “bangs” does not look huge at all, plus, if desired, you can hide it in the settings.
Big screen for games and videos
The Honor X8 has a very large screen – a real boon for those who often watch videos or play mobile games. And answering letters or just flipping through web pages on a 6.5-inch display is also very pleasant. At the same time, it is comfortable to hold the device with one hand, since the screen is widescreen (aspect ratio is 19.5: 9), which means that the smartphone body is narrow and slightly elongated vertically.
The screen is based on a good IPS-matrix with a decent margin of brightness and almost maximum viewing angles. There are no questions about color reproduction, plus many of its parameters can be configured in the menu. Detailing is in order: a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels gives a density of almost 400 dpi on a 6.5-inch diagonal. And this is exactly the level, starting from which it is extremely difficult to distinguish individual pixels “by eye”.
Powerful stuffing and a lot of memory
Honor X8 features a new hardware platform independently developed by the company. This is the Kirin 710 chipset, which replaces the previous mobile chip for smartphones from the middle price segment – Kirin 659. Actually, it was the 659th that was in last year’s Honor X7. If you compare the latest solution head-on with the previous one, the results will pleasantly surprise you. Kirin 710 single core performance is 75% faster than before, dual core performance is 68% faster, and integrated graphics performance is up to 130% faster! This is already enough to think about an upgrade.
If we talk about the new chipset in a little more detail, then it consists of eight processing cores. Among them are four economical ones, operating at a frequency of 1.7 GHz, and four high-performance ones with a maximum clock frequency of 2.2 GHz. In addition to them, there is an integrated graphics Mali G51-MP4. In combination with 4 GB of RAM, all this gives such a level of performance that the EMUI 8.2 shell does not affect the performance of the Android operating system. A similar story with multitasking and the vast majority of everyday tasks.
